2014 Drowning Report
The key findings found that the majority of the drownings occurred within the cyclone months; however the age, ethnicity, contributing factors and drowning locations differed significantly between divisions. Such insightful findings will therefore allow for quality assurance that resources can be expended accurately and accordingly.

The final written report will be available by July 2015 – for the first time the WSCF will include a well-researched case study addressing three cyclone periods: 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15.

People of all ages should be watched in and around water.
It is important to be attentive around water as dangers are present.

Unsupervised children are a leading cause of death for children under the age of 5.
Children do not have the knowledge strength or ability to be on their own in or around water.
